Hello all

I had my 'last' talk at the hospital about the surgery today.

The surgery wont happen for sure for the next half a year. That's just for the ones who have been worried

Now it looks like this. Since they tested all my blood, they figured it's not too good and my bloodsugar is far from being ok. I was slack and didnt inject regulary. I was so stressed out that I kept forgetting about it and when I thought about it, it was usually too late or the next morning. My values are really bad so I'm back on injecting 2 different insulins 4 times a day, plus pills. The doc said we have to be agressive now to get it back down again and he is right. I'm already having the side effects again of high bloodsugar, like having to pee ever half hour, constant thirst, headache and a few other things.

Now that's from the diabetes doctor. The surgery doctor also gave me meds that will balance my moodswings a little and surpress the need for carbs. He told me that I dont like them, I could stop to take them and that we would start with a really low dosis. And I on the other hand told him, that I want to make a therapy with the psychologist in the hospital. I want to do it for half a year and see how I'm feeling then. I'm not stupid enough to not know, that I can't make it all by myself and that I need professional help.

So if after these 6 months, there is no success, I will do the surgery, cause then I can really say I tried it all.

There have been several people and on other sites I am, who gave me the strength to make changes about myself. Some I know for years, others since months and others since week or even days. I'm grateful for that Lol I wont list names, cause I'm sure I will forget one and then it's rumbling in the box So this is a global thank you, you know who you are

Now on a totally different note. I got a belated xmas gift from my mum and got myself a new mobile phone, yay lol

Hi Kat. It sounds like things have really been going on for you. It's good to hear that you're working to get your blood sugars under control again; you sure don't want that holding you back from what you want to do, and you definitely don't want there to be complications while you're in surgery. It also sounds like you're making a wise choice in terms of getting into therapy for the next six months. If nothing else, it might help you understand yourself better.

As for your visit to the Tree, well, those sarcastic remarks were just too funny not to share. LOL We all think things like that at some point, (and most of us probably don't actually say anything, either), and isn't it great that we're not the only ones!
